...of the movie...I mean...


DISNEY honchos still plan to turn their made-for-TV hit "High School Musical" into a real movie, but they may have to do it without the TV version's major stars, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. A tipster says Disney is "only offering them $1 million each. Zac and Vanessa aren't going to do it." A studio spokesperson told us, "We are still in negotiations with the entire cast, but we don't comment on the specifics of negotiations."

Now that Zac has appeared in Hairspray and and is touring to promote the movie his name is out there so why would he settle for only a $1m? Also Vanessa has created her own publicity with the recent nude photo scandal - great timing!

All I hear everywhere at the moment is Zac Efron this and Zac Efron that. It's like the part in Being John Malkovich where JM goes into his own portal....Zac Efron? Zac Efron!

I think he's definitely worth more than $1million dollars nowadays. I do feel however he's being a little greedy....as the old hollywood adage goes..."you gotta be nice to the people on the way up cos you'll run into them again on the way down".

Us members of the (oh so sssslightly!) older generation are underestimating the power of the tweenie dollar. Parents treat their children as heads of the household these days....they get whatever they like and see every movie a thousand times....and I'm quite certain Disney has more than enough pocket money for little Zac.

It's sad but I liked High School Musical. But $1M....considering he's only done the two tele-movies and his role in Hairspray sounds like a pretty good deal.
