"Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes began a honeymoon in the Maldives, a government official said Tuesday, after the couple married in a 15th-century castle in Italy over the weekend.
‘Yes, they are here, I can confirm that,’ chief government spokesman Mohamed Hussain Shareef told The Associated Press by telephone from the capital, Male.
‘They have gone to one of the islands, but this is very, very secret,’ he said."
Maldives is an island nation consisting of a group of atolls in the Indian Ocean. The Maldives are located south of India's Lakshadweep islands, and about seven hundred kilometers (435 mi) south-west of Sri Lanka.
Hmm, weird, I'd never heard of this place before!
