The Life Before Her Eyes: A Review
May 2nd 2008 19:12
SPOILERS!!!
I just saw "The Life Before Her Eyes." Sad. The story centers around a Columbine-life event. Diana is a wild-child who befriends Maureen, the sensible one. The story flashes forward 15 years to what Diana's life is life after the shooting. But there's a twist. The film makes you believe that Maureen was the friend that died but in actuality it was Diana. She was shit in the head and she hallucinates about what her life would have been like had she lived. She gets married, she has a kid...and she has survivor's guilt. But she's the one that died.
So sad....but if you watch the movie they give you a couple of clues that that's what's going on. The styles never change. They have cell phones (the younger scenes are supposed to be like 1993). The license plates are the same as they are now...and so are the cars, clothes, etc. And when the "older" Diana goes back to visit the school exactly everything is the same.
Anyway...I'll have to see it again because it kind of blows my mind now that I'm thinking about it. So sad!
