I smell a roach!
Maya Rudolph from SNL has a bug problem.
"Saturday Night Live's Maya Rudolph and her partner, director Paul Thomas Anderson, are suing their New York City landlord for $450,500, claiming their $13,500-a-month loft apartment is infested with bedbugs.
According to papers filed Wednesday in Manhattan's State Supreme Court, ‘The plaintiffs were bitten over portions of their bodies by bedbugs’ after having been assured that the third-floor SoHo condo was ‘perfect’ and in a ‘first-class luxury’ building, the Associated Press reports.
Rudolph and Anderson, who directed films including Boogie Nights and Magnolia, signed a lease on the apartment on Sept. 28 and moved in with their 1-year-old daughter, Pearl.
The quickly discovered the bedbug problem, as well as the fact that the building's elevator was out of order for at least six of their first 11 days, the documents say.
Once Rudolph and Anderson lodged their complaint, an exterminator appeared on Oct. 17 and advised them to vacate, at least for a few weeks, for the sake of their child.
They left and never returned, according to their attorney, Kenneth Glassman.
Named as defendants in the lawsuit are Halstead Property LLC, the broker, and Francis Feeney, the owner of the apartment. Being sought are $450,500 in compensatory and punitive damages, repayment of rent and broker's fees and legal fees.
A rep for Halstead had no comment and Feeney could not be reached, the AP reports."
