Madonna Adopts Child from Malawi

Madonna has adopted a child from Malawi.
The Material Mom, 48, has adopted a son from the African nation of Malawi. The pop star hand-selected her child from about 12 children specially chosen prior to her arrival in the poverty-striken country.
Madonna and her crew arrived early Wednesday morning at the capital city of Malawi, Lilongwe by private plane.
She is also moving ahead with plans to fund a center for about 1,000 African orphans, many of whom lost parents to the AIDS virus.
Madonna, who is married to Guy Richie, has 2 children. Her daughter Lourdes (from Carlos Leon) is 10 and her son Rocco (with Richie) is 6.
