Hasselhoff to star in

"NEW YORK (Reuters) - Former ‘Baywatch’ star David Hasselhoff will star in the Las Vegas production of the popular Broadway musical ‘The Producers,’ the show's creator Mel Brooks said on Thursday.
Hasselhoff, who has endured personal problems over the past year, will take on the role of effeminate stage director Richard DeBris.
‘He is perfect for Roger DeBris because he has the best legs in Hollywood,’ Brooks said at a news conference.
Hasselhoff has appeared in Broadway musical productions including ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ and ‘Chicago,’ but made his name starring as the muscular head lifeguard in ‘Baywatch’ shown in dozens of countries.
‘I need to have fun,’ Hasselhoff, 54, told Reuters in an interview. ‘God came to me and said you have had enough stuff in your life over the last year, here's fun.’
British tabloids in July reported that the American actor, who also has launched a successful recording career, missed a flight out of London because he was drunk. His U.S. representative explained it as illness.
In January, Hasselhoff filed for divorce from wife
Pamela Bach after 16 years of marriage.
‘The Producers,’ which will open in Las Vegas in February, won 12
Tony Awards after it opened in New York in 2001. Since then it has hit the stage in cities around the world including Melbourne, Toronto, Tokyo, London and Seoul."

I think if I were in Las Vegas and had the choice of seeing David Hasselhoff in the Producers, and Celine Dion.....I'd go see Celine (and I'd rather have a needle stuck in my eye than listen to Celine!!!)
