And the Nominees Are...
December 14th 2006 19:26
...for the Golden Globes, that is:
Leo DiCaprio, who is nominated for best actor in both Blood Diamond and The Departed
Jennifer Hudson (who dat?) for Dreamgirls
..and Babel, which I'm dying to see, which got 7 nominations, including best supporting actor for Brad Pitt and best director for Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.
Comedy/musical actor nominees are Sacha Baron Cohen in Borat; Johnny Depp, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest; Aaron Eckhart, Thank You for Smoking; Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kinky Boots; and Will Ferrell, Stranger Than Fiction.
Female actor nominees, for movie-dramas, are Penelope Cruz in Volver; Judi Dench, Notes on a Scandal; Maggie Gyllenhaal, Sherrybaby; Helen Mirren, The Queen; and Kate Winslet, Little Children.
Comedy/musical female actor nominees include Knowles in Dreamgirls; Annette Bening, Running With Scissors; Toni Collette, Little Miss Sunshine; Meryl Streep The Devil Wears Prada; and Rene Zellweger Miss Potter.
Congrats to all. Although I hope Helen Mirren wins for The Queen because I thought her portrayal was excellent.
